- Individual arrival in Matera, a magical town that preserves evidence of human settlements since the Palaeolithic period in its natural caves carved into the rock. Take your time to visit its historic centre, the two districts known as Sassi di Matera, which were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1993.
- MATERA - GRASSANO (48 km). Cycling along the lake of San Giuliano, a wildlife oasis in the Bradano valley, your first tage leads you to Grassano, an agricultural centre in the Matera hills.
- GRASSANO - PIETRPERTOSA (56 km). Crossing the Basento valley, you cycle first uphill towards Accettura. Then you cycle through the Montepiano forest and reach Pietrapertosa, the highest village in Basilicata lodged between the rocks.
- PIETRAPERTOSA - CASTELMEZZANO - PIETRAPERTOSA. Today you can decide to go by bike (32 km) or to walk to Castelmezzano, following the "seven stone" path. And for the more adventurous, you can enjoy an exciting flight along a steel cable between Pietrapertosa rocks and Castelmezzano called The Angel’s Fligth (Volo dell’Angelo).
- PIETRAPERTOSA - ALIANO (56 km). After passing through the Montepiano forest, you cross Cirigliano, one of the region's smallest villages, and descend into the Sauro valley to Aliano, where Carlo Levi wrote Christ Stopped at Eboli.
- ALIANO - MONTALBANO JONICO (69 km). Leaving Aliano, you cross the Calanchi area. An almost lunar landscape will accompany you to Craco, a village abandoned in the 1960s following a landslide. Then you continue through the arid Cavone valley to Montalbano Jonico.
- MONTALBANO JONICO - MATERA (29 km). A long way down will take you to the Ionian Sea where, after a well-deserved nice swim, our van will take you back to Matera. End of services.
