Day 1: Individual arrival in Rimini, the most important seaside resort of the Romagnan coast. Don't miss the chance to explore the suggestive street of the city center with the Arch of Augustus, the Amphitheatre and the Malatestian Templete, testimonies of flourishing Roman, Medieval and Renaissance pasts.
Day 2: From Rimini to Santarcangelo di Romagna (33 km, elevation: 496)
The first stage of the tour is dedicated to the memory of Malatesta's family cycling to Verucchio along the Marecchia Valley (Val Marecchia). Structured as a mediaeval village and rich in historical buildings, Verucchio stands on two hills, Passerello Fortress and Sasso Fortress.
Cycling downhill towards Villa Verucchio and Corpolò you'll reach the fascinating borgo of Santarcangelo di Romagna. On a hilltop you can see Malatesta fortress, scene of the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca, portrayed in one of the most famous episodes of Dante's Inferno.
Day 3: From Santarcangelo di Romagna to San Leo (35 km, elevation: 900)
Cycling over the hills dominating this area your first stop is the castle of Montebello (Torriana). The mighty fortress, once the scene of many battles, it is now marked by the famous legend of Azzurrina. You'll continue your ride on quiet country roads crosssing the Uso and Marecchia rivers until you'll reach your destination for the day: san Leo. The borgo is surrounded by a relaxing atmosphere, away from the nightlife of the Riviera of Romagna.
Day 4: From San Leo to Montefiore Conca (41 km, elevation: 1100)
Today you will cross three borders: first the state of San Marino, then the one between the regions of Emilia Romagna and Marche, finally the provincial border between Rimini and Pesaro-Urbino.
Passing through Monte Grimano Terme e Mercatino Conca, the route continues towards Montefiore Conca, one of the most beautiful borgos of the region.
Day 5: From Montefiore Conca to Rimini (55 km, elevation: 715).
Today you'll be enchanted by the beauty of the places you'll visit. First stop is Saludecio, the cities of painted walls. The trip continues to Mondaino, surrounded by unspoilt scrubland and fields where deer once pastured; indeed, they can still be seen near here and gave the town its name - “monte dei daini” or “mountain of roe deer”. Passing through the small towns of Montegridolfo and Tauvullia you'll reach the castle of Gradara situated on the border between the regions of Marche and Emilia Romanga. Back to Romagna you'll ride first towards Cattolica and then to Rimini, where your tour ends.
