By Train
From the major cities of Sicily, there are services to Naples, Rome and Milan (for further information, please visit the website of the Italian National Railway TRENITALIA); this is achieved by the trains being loaded onto ferries which cross the Strait (Please see the section 'Ferry' below).

If you plan to bring your own car or have hired a car in a different part of Italy, at some point you will need to take a ferry to get to the island. The same goes for if you are arriving by train.

HOW TO GET TO PIAZZA ARMERINA
Unfortunately Piazza Armerina doesn't have a train station. As a result, you can reach the town by coach or private transfer.
Anyway, the best thing would be to arrive in Catania, if possible, as there are easier and better connections to Piazza Armerina.
FROM CATANIA
- Direct coach operated by ETNA TRASPORTI from Catania city centre and from the Airport. Duration: about 1h30min/1h45min. Cost: about 10€.
- Private transfer that can be arranged by us.
FROM PALERMO
- Direct coach operated by SAIS AUTOLINEE from Palermo city centre (Via Fazello, near the train station). Duration: about 2h. Cost: about 12€.
If you arrive at Palermo Airport, there is a shuttle bus service to Palermo train station operated by PRESTIA E COMANDE (departures every 30min). Duration: 35min. Cost: about 6€.

- From Comiso Airport you can get to Piazza Armerina by coach in two steps:
1) Direct coach from Comiso Airport to Catania Airport operated by GIAMPORCARO (SAIS TRASPORTI). Duration: 1h20min. Cost: about 10€.
2) Direct coach operated by ETNA TRASPORTI from Catania Airport to Piazza Armerina. Duration: about 1h30min/1h45min. Cost: about 10€.
