Day 1: Individual arrival in Assisi. You will start your bike tour from Assisi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular pilgrimage destination, being closely linked to Saint Francis and Saint Clare. The Basilicae dedicated to the two saints of Assisi are a must-see during your visit of this magnificent medieval town. In the late afternoon, bike delivery and briefing. Overnight stay in Assisi.
Day 2: Assisi – Spello – Montefalco – Bevagna – Torgiano (65 km / +550 m)
This morning you have time to wander through the streets of Spello and to visit the church of S. Maria Maggiore where Pinturicchio left us one of his masterpieces. The itinerary continues in the Spoleto Valley and, after a short but steep climb, you will arrive in Montefalco, known as 'the Railing of Umbria', due to the magnificent view you can enjoy from this town. The next stop will be Bevagna, whose main square offers a pleasant medieval appearance, thanks to its two Romanesque churches and the town hall. The stage ends in Torgiano, overlooking the Tiber valley. Here, in the Graziano-Baglioni Palace, you will find the Wine Museum, which is definitely worth a visit. Overnight stay in Torgiano.
